It has been an adventure, to say the least…

Bill and Laura met one snowy evening at the Chicago staple Fat Cat after online correspondence revealed a resonance between the two.

“Bill’s first message to me was ‘Have you ever played six-handed euchre?” and I knew I was hooked” - Laura

The date unexpectedly lasted until the bar closed and plans were swiftly made for a second meeting to see the premiere of Black Panther, revealing a shared love of going to the movies. Many dates soon followed and it was not long before the two knew this was going to be an important, lasting relationship for the both of them.

Together they have crisscrossed the country, traveling to locales such as both Portlands (Maine & Oregon), San Diego, and Tampa, eventually moving in together mid-pandemic and merging their board game collections.

“There wasn’t a doubt in my mind that moving in with Laura was the right decision and our first few months living together proved that.” - Bill

Bill proposed to Laura on September 7th, 2020 on the pier of Laura’s parents’ lake house overlooking Lower Nashota Lake. The house contained special significance as it has been in Laura’s family for almost a hundred years. She has many wonderful memories there, and Bill was able to add one more.

After the engagement, the pair almost immediately began preparing the wedding of their dreams in Chicago. However, after speaking with a few planners a new idea emerged for a magical celebration in the beautiful countryside of Italy. It is there that they look forward to hosting friends and family for their enchanted wedding spectacular.
