FAQs

Q: Will this be the
best wedding in history?

A: Yaaaassss!

What's the weather like in Albuquerque?

The desert climate often sees 30-40 degree changes in the temperature each day. This means cool mornings perfect for being outside. In the afternoon, it can be especially warm in the sun - bring an umbrella or hat for shade. If you step into a shady spot, you will feel a difference. The evenings cool down substantially - you'll want a light jacket or sweater, especially if the breeze picks up.

Dry climates mean dry bodies - have we mentioned that you should drink extra water?

Drink water!

Albuquerque sits at about a mile high in elevation. Drink more water than you’re used to drinking! Bring some chapstick and lotion for your lips and skin. You may feel extra tired if you’re not drinking enough. Travel with a small umbrella or hat to shade yourself when you’re traveling around town.

When should I RSVP by?

Please RSVP as soon as you know if you will be coming, but no later than August 5, 2021

Tell me about COVID

The pandemic has been a factor in our planning! The ceremony will be indoors in a church that seats 1400. We will fill less that 15% of that space, so there will be plenty of room for social distancing. The reception will take place entirely outdoors. This may mean some sun or light wind before sunset, and potential chilly weather after sunset.

Where should we eat?

Some of our favorite restaurants include M'Tucci's, The Grove, Hannah & Nate's, Farm & Table, and Indigo Crow. Grab a breakfast burrito at Frontier or Blake's for an iconic taste of Albuquerque - be sure to add some red or green chile.

Where should we drink?

Albuquerque is recognized nationally for their breweries. We recommend Bosque, Marble or Steel Bender. For a relaxing glass of wine, check out Casa Rondena vineyard in the North Valley. For cocktails, visit Level 5 at Hotel Chaco or Hotel Parq Central's Apothecary.

We have also visited most of Albuquerque's coffee shops. Our favorites include Castle Coffee, Cutbow Coffee, Trifecta, Michael Thomas, and The Brew/Villa Myriam.

Are there any local places you’d recommend I visit while I’m in town?

There is so much to do in Albuquerque! The Sandia Peak Tramway is the world's longest tram and will take you up to 10,000 feet of elevation. Take a jacket if you visit in the morning or evening!

For some active leisure, rent a bike in Old Town, take a walk down the Bosque trail, or hike in the foothills. A visit to the Botanical Gardens or Albuquerque Biopark Zoo is a fun way to spend the morning. Take an umbrella or hat for shade.

For the more adventurous early-birds, book a hot air balloon ride! Albuquerque will be prepping for the International Balloon Fiesta, which happens a month after the wedding. Seeing the city from above during a peaceful and still ride is one of Maureen’s favorite things to do! If you’re not feeling that adventurous, you could visit the Balloon Museum and keep both feet on the ground.

If you're here on Friday or Saturday, you could take a 1 hour drive to Santa Fe. Visit the Loretto Chapel to see an architectural miracle, walk the town square or visit the art museums and shops on Canyon Road. The Shedd is a great place to stop for a meal!

Where should we stay?

We are planning most events in the Sawmill District, so we recommend staying in one of the Hotels there or in a vacation rental close by. The ceremony will require driving.
