On 4.23.2021 Dr. David & Mrs. Angela Chapman were married at the Ellicott City courthouse in Howard County, Maryland. The ceremony was held outside, in the most lovely of Spring weather. We were joined by our parents and David's brother. A small, outdoor reception was held that evening at the Chapman residence where parents and siblings were invited to celebrate with us.
We wanted to share this day with so many other people that we love and admire, however, given the historic events occurring, we decided to keep it very small. We have created this website to share with everyone who could not join us on our big day!
It doesn't sound so romantic to say that we met online...but we did. We met in September of 2019 and broke the ice over conversations of computer vision, and microfluidics.
As much as we appreciate topics of science and engineering, we truly bonded over our shared passion for art and creativity. David is an accomplished saxophonist, and loves to play guitar, piano, and trumpet, while Angela loves to paint, draw, and practice film photography. It has been the perfect union of art and tech since day one, with many dates at the BMA, the Walters, the Smithsonian, the MET and even the Guggenheim in those pre-pandemic days...
In December of 2019 fate interviened...Angela's apartment in Mount Vernon Baltimore caught fire. (Thankfully no one was hurt!) We now consider this event to be an act of God, as we began living together from that day forward. Somewhat unusual for having only dated for 3 months at the time. We set up a painting studio in the house and David plays piano every night.
Life was truly a dream so we got engaged on May 5th 2020. Fast forward, we now live with Pepper, our 7 month Great Dane puppy. We're going to San Francisco and then to Hawaii for our honeymoon(s) in August.
